I’m always like…”Really? Thanks for stating that…I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I don’t know what I would do without you.” For those of you who are still in doubt, I’m being sarcastic. Actually, it is kind of funny when a commercial on TV or someone trying to get their point across and end up re-stating the same thing over and over again. I always like to say some “smart and witty” (note: they may not actually be that smart OR witty to anyone else, but they amuse me). Yeah, so I’m not really sure where I’m going with this post. I guess this little rant/charade came from my class today. My teacher….what can I say, probably nothing since I wouldn’t be able to get a word in edge-wise. She just goes on and on and on…kind of like me right now. Don’t get me wrong, I think she’s a great person. She’s just one that loves the own sound of her voice too much to the dismay of her students.

So…enough ranting for the day. Anyways, I have some pretty good news! Well, good for me, probably uninteresting or unimportant to you, but that’s what you get for reading a blog about nothing. Remember how I told you my buttocks really hurt yesterday and I could barely walk? Well today I’m feeling much better. Not well enough to work out, but good enough to walk pretty normally and at a normal pace! It’s the little things guys…I’m hoping that by tomorrow I’ll feel good enough to lift weights. I haven’t done so in about a week and am really itching to work my muscles.

IMG_0878Now it’s time to relax, read, and enjoy some delicious hot biscuits! Yes, I said biscuitS, as in more than one. Hey, maybe I’ll even eat them with a side of soup for nutrients.

Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest

IMG_0876I did a bad thing guys. So, as I told you a few posts back, I seemed to have pulled something close to my buttocks (yes, I said buttocks, let’s be adults here…yeah, right! hahah). Anyways, I took yesterday off from exercising, but I thought I could push through it today. Yeah, NOT a good idea. I now officially cannot walk without limping or shuffling. I look like an old person whilst walking. Even more so, IT HURRTTTSSSSS! IT HURTS SO BADD! Maybe I should rethink my philosophy of just pushing through it and it will go away on its own….nahhh! So yeah, not my best decision.

On the bright side though…knocked out a really good workout! Lots of hills (treadmill hills) and levels of speed. All in all, as of now, I do not regret it….alright maybe a little. But yeah. Here’s the workout if you’re interested. I tacked on an extra 10 minutes (not included) of running at 6 mph just to knock it out of the park.

On the other hand, good news! This week is my last week of classes for awhile before I go back into the classroom to teach the little kiddywinks. I understand you may be scared for the kids that I will teach, but I promise I am much less inappropriate and childish in person…sometimes most of the time. I complain and rant a little less a LOT less.

So this morning I was bored…I know, surprised right? So I decided to take a little browse around town and find random stores that I could waste time in. Well, my trip actually turned out pretty fun. I FINALLY went into this Antique shop that I have passed millions of times and always sworn I would eventually visit. Whelp, today was the day I visited it! And look at the goodies I found….

Darn Setting Sun!

So it’s REALLY annoying that the sun starts setting at like 3. I was originally going to go for a nice long relaxing run, HOWEVER by like 3 the sun started setting and it got me all depressed, because I don’t really like running when the sun is setting. Instead, I decided to hit the gym and do a quick HIIT workout that involves a bunch of cardio (including jump roping) with some body weight movements interspersed. It was pretty fulfilling. I ended it with 10 minutes of stair steppers…which, considering I think I pulled something in my leg, probably wasn’t the best idea. Then again, I never said this was a blog of good ideas…

Speaking of bad ideas, this one is certainly not. Have you ever tried Greek vanilla yogurt with sugar-free pudding mix mixed in? Well, if you haven’t it’s delicious. It adds amazing flavor to the yogurt and you can make it taste like chocolate, cheesecake, pistachio, butterscotch, or any other pudding mix you’d like. So delicious!!

Anyways, I think I’m gonna end my Saturday with some popcorn and the movie Role Models. Enjoy!

Jawbone UP24

My Birthday is coming up and I’m REALLY bad at making commitments….so I’m kind of waffling on my decision to buy the UP24 by Jawbone. I officially bought it online, so I technically made a commitment, but I’m unsure of my decision. Usually I skip presents on Birthdays and Christmas due to the fact that I can never make a decision and I would rather not buy anything rather than feel bad or mad about the thing I did end up buying. Yeah, I know it’s weird. But I’m always like well I could have gotten this, did I really need this, why did I get this, will I actually use this? And all that stress…well it just makes me feel stressful, so I’d rather not deal with it, dream about the things I want, act like I could get them all, and then not get anything. It makes no sense, but it feels better okay? Anyway. I bought it. It’s going to ship. I’m nervous. Did I make the right decision? GAHHHHH. I’ll let you know how it all turns out. I know you’ll all be out of your seats waiting in anticipation. How oh HOW could I leave you in such suspense?! Haha…kidding, obviously. I’m sure you all could care less.

Originally today I planned to lift weights…however, I just couldn’t get myself to the gym….instead, I settled for a quick at-home workout from FitnessBlender’s YouTube Channel. I decided on their HIIT Cardio Workout. It was a nice, sweaty workout that kept me breathing hard.

Thank God It’s Thursday (TGIT)

I know, I know…it’s really supposed to be TGIF, but if you ask me Thursday’s are my favorite day of the week (well Thursday’s AFTER school that is). Why you may ask (or not….)? It’s because by Friday after school, I feel like 1/3 of my weekend is already over. On Thursday, you’re over Hump Day, and there’s this big anticipation for the weekend that has yet to begin. I feel like the sheer excitement and knowledge that tomorrow begins the weekend makes Thursday the best day of the week (you are of course entitled to you own opinion and I realize many may not share this same view). Of course…it doesn’t hurt that the Master’s program I’m in has off on Fridays (yeah, I know that does MAKE a big difference…3 DAY WEEKEND!). Don’t worry though, I have enough homework to make up for that off day. Let’s just say, my weekends aren’t the most relaxing. But enough about Thursdays.

Egg White Oatmeal with Almond Butter, Raisins, Goji Berries, and Almonds

So today started bright and early with a big ‘ol bowl of Egg White Oatmeal…as you may have noticed I’m not one of those people who will make my meals look perfect for the blog. It’s food, not art…I’m just gonna eat it anyways.

A perfect start to such a cold and dreary day. It’s official, winter is coming. Today the high’s were in the 40’s for the first time here. It was COLD…well, compared to previous weather we’ve been having. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not complaining. I actually kind of like the cold…for awhile.

Anyways, after breakfast I headed to the gym for a short 5 mile run! So refreshing. Whilst running, I was entertained by That 70’s Show. Ever heard of it? It’s a good show if you want a laugh…Ashton Kutcher’s in it. One of the reasons I like it so much is that the setting is in Wisconsin. Since my dad was from Wisconsin, I love the Packers and the Cheese Heads (yes, I actually have a cheese head..maybe I’ll show it to you sometime).

Besides that, I’m sad to say that the rest of my day was not that exciting. After classes I went to the Library (because I’m a book nerd) and Micheal’s to get supplies for the Poster Session, where I have to defend my Master’s Research Project (Fuuuunnnnnn……).

Now I think I’m gonna curl up on the couch, read one of my books/watch TV, and EAT! See ya later!

Microwave Egg White Oatmeal

Ingredients

** 1/2 cup quick cooking oats, 1 ripe banana, 1/2 cup milk of choice (I use almond milk), 3/4 cup liquid egg whites (I use carton egg white), 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon**

Directions:

Peel and mash the banana. Then stir the remaining ingredients in a medium-size bowl, with room at the top so the oats can expand in the microwave and not overflow…trust me it happens (I know from experience). Then, microwave on high for three minutes, stirring after 75 seconds and then again every 30 to 45 seconds until three minutes are up. Finally, top with your favorite toppings and enjoy. In the picture above, I used raisins, goji berries, almond butter, and almonds!

A Fact About Lobster’s That You’d Probably Be Better Off Not Knowing

Long title right? Well, as I was working out at the gym this morning, Spongebob came on and it was an episode where Larry the Lobster makes an appearance. Well, it got me thinking about lobsters in general and a random fact I once heard about them. Yeah, I know. Where am I getting all of these weird facts? What must I do with my life to have all of these useless facts sitting in my brain?!

Whelp, here it is anyways: Did you know that lobsters pee out of their faces? It’s true! The urine comes from antennal glands located near the antennae. They look like two pieces of snot apparently. Peeing at each other is part of both fighting and courtship. Lovely, right. Makes you wish you were a lobster….

IMG_0846So…now that I’ve shared that appetizing tidbit, I thought it was only logical to tell you what my roommate made us for dinner! Pasta with wine sauce!! It’s got cream of mushroom soup, basil pesto, artichokes, onions, olives, and of course the very key ingredient of SANGRIA!!!! So delicious! And just what’s needed after a long day of classes and homework. Although I’m debating on whether or not to eat the pasta or just head straight for the leftover wine. Thoughts?

Pizza Omelet

Hey! Just a quick little update for today. Since nothing truly exciting happened today, I decided to leave you with a quick, easy, cheap, and college-friendly dinner option. Enjoy!!

Lately I have been all about the omelets! They are quick, easy way to get your protein fix! A couple nights ago I made an omelet with a yummy pizza twist.

I prepared my omelet (5 egg whites, 2 eggs) like any other omelet, but instead of just stuffing it withΒ  Go Veggie Monteray Jack and Cheddar Cheese, I added 1/2 cup of Prego Roasted Red Pepper sauce. It tasted delicious! The flavors of pizza without all of the carbs! I would give it a try if you’re looking for a quick, satisfying, cheap dinner or side.

Hey guys! So as I was waiting at a traffic light (I know, big surprise right?) on my way back from school it made me think about a statistic that I had read about. Sooooo, I thought I would start off this lovely Monday post (and make your Monday EVEN MORE enjoyable) by sharing it with you. Here it is:

Wasting Time

Great way to start off your week right? Hey! I never said this was a sunshine and rainbows blog….

Anyways…on another note, my day started off bright and early at 6 am with breakfast. On weekdays, I usually give myself 60 minutes to get up, get ready, and eat breakfast before I head off to the gym (conveniently located at my school) at around 7. I love not having to rush in the mornings and kind of slowly get my act together.Β  Today was weight-lifting day so I spent about an hour doing a full-body workout. I love the feeling of getting stronger and being able to lift more. So satisfying. I used to be a complete cardio bunny, but around a year or so ago I tried weight-lifting and never looked back! Now, I switch between cardio and lifting, averaging for about 4 days of cardio/body weight and 2 days of full body lifting.

Moving on. After that I had classes pretty much until 4. Such a blower. Especially since I feel like I’m wasting my time, paying TONS, and not learning anything. Then again…such is the life of school right? You never really feel like you’re learning to much (or maybe that’s just me?). After that I headed home to do some homework…which pretty much brings us up to date! Ha!

Now I think it is time to eat. I’m thinking pizza with a side of salad salad with a side of pizza.

Binge Watching Cutthroat Kitchen…Could My Life Get Anymore Glamorous?

Hey guys! Just a quick check in. Yeah, so the title of this post pretty much sums up my day. Besides, that I did make it to the gym today! 5 quick and nasty miles. Worked up a good sweat and looked like a buffoon, right in time for the men’s basketball team to let out. Ohh they joys of exercise! Haha. Whilst I was running, I got to watch The Change-Up…not my favorite or first choice movie, but entertaining nonetheless. Except for the part where the baby sprays crap all over the dad. I mean seriously, do people actually find that funny? I just find it utterly too gross to be funny…but maybe that’s just me? (P.S. Before this A Bug’s Life was on…personally I enjoyed that more)

Anyways, I’m gonna spend the rest of the evening (although it’s not even quite 6…yet it feels later), watching football! Go Packers!!!! Oh, and can I just say Fall is BEAUTIFUL! I mean seriously, look at this picture! No filter and taken from my iPhone. Yeah, I’m not the best photographer, so I think it’s saying a lot that it still turned out pretty nice πŸ™‚ So, that being said…I leave you with this beauty.
